“How many Christians really harbor within their own spirit
the daily expectation of God’s presence?”
– A. W. Tozer
Each day I wake, thank God for another day, spend some time in prayer and reading, and ask God to make his presence known to me throughout the day. Still, I wonder if I really expect his presence. Desire? Absolutely. Seek? Of course. Expect? Well…..
I am not sure I have ever thought about expecting his presence. Jesus said, “I am with you always, to the end of the age,” (Matthew 28:20) and I trust his promises. In my head I know the truth, and I get strength for each day from it.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” – Deutoronomy 31:6
Just as the Israelites did as they were preparing to enter the promised land.
So, I will begin, not just asking God to make his presence known, but expecting his presence throughout my day.
