Another egret. This time at Yosemite Lake in Stockton. Unlike most egrets I encounter, this one seemed determined not to give up a prime fishing spot. These birds are not known for letting people get very close. I suppose that the ones around here, midtown Stockton, are used to people walking around the lake. With the delta coming right into our back yard the opportunities to see wildlife in the city is fairly good and I try to remember to take my camera when I walk the dog.
Mornings are best. There are very few people in the park. Perhaps one or two other dog walkers and a fisherman or two. It is quiet, and the wildlife is most active in the early morning and late afternoon. Great light too.
