When I first heard Martin O’Malley

Martin O'Malley

I first heard former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley when he spoke at the California State Democratic Convention in 2014. His remarks sounded like a presidential stump speech and I suspected then that he had plans to occupy the White House. My suspicion was confirmed when I opened the newspaper this morning.

Yes, I still read a print copy of our local newspaper – some days.

According to the Associated Press, “O’Malley plans to announce his presidential intentions on May 30 in Baltimore.”

Of the three announced candidates, O’Malley, Bernie Sanders, and Hilary Clinton, my support goes to O’Malley. Though Clinton may still have the best shot, from a sheer momentum standpoint, at getting the nomination, O’Malley would be the better pick to lead this country into the future. And, I am not convinced Hilary can win a general election. Of the three, O’Malley is our best shot at keeping the White House.

Yes, this goes against the majority thinking of the party, but the majority is rarely correct.

This is my photography blog, so I’m not going to say any more about the presidential race in this post. You can see the rest of my pictures from the 2014 CA State Democratic Party Convention on Flickr.
