Start Something and Let Momentum Take Over

Half Moon Bay

For whatever reason, I am having a tough time putting together a post to announce the new look of my Website. One thing is time, but that is just a matter of setting aside a few minutes to write. Maybe it has been so hard because announcing something so obvious seems unnecessary. After all, people new to the site don’t know it has been updated unless I say something, and regular visitors will surely notice a complete theme overhaul. So, the best course of action is to just get started and write. Something.

Sometimes that’s what you need to do. To get something done it often simply takes getting started. Start something and let momentum take over. Here it goes…

About a week ago I finally got around to updating the Website with a new theme. I did it by starting. Once I got going momentum took over.

The theme is the biggest change so far. Content will come along more slowly. Photography is still the main focus of the site. That won’t change, and I anticipate writing more about my images. Even so, the galleries may disappear over time in favor of being hosted on SmugMug. Looking back I see that I don’t post to the blog consistently enough. That is going to change, and will mean more post about things other than photography, like my energy business, Bible study notes, Website development projects, and general observations. In other words, it is going to be an all inclusive site about the things that are important in my life that I believe can deliver value to others.

Some would try to convince me that this is too much for one site. That I am not being focused enough and that if I want to talk about different things I should have separate sites for each. They may be right, but this is who I am. A Christian who happens to be a photographer who is a writer with a home based business, and I want to tell the world about all of it. Besides, different sites means more expense.

This is also going to be a jumping off point for my other photography sites.

Though I plan to expand the content, it’s still mostly about photography. For it is through photography that all the rest of it comes together for me. I see the beauty and wonder in creation which I capture in images that I share with you and write about that you may more easily understand what the Lord has spoken to me.

So, this is what happens when you just do what you do. When you start and let the the words flow. At the end of it is a post.

Thanks for reading. As always, I love it when people comment and continue the conversation. I would love to know what you thing about this post and about the changes to the site.

One last thing. Join my email list and never miss another post. You will receive a digital copy of one of my premium images to say thanks. Your information is never shared and you can un-subscribe anytime.
