Keeping the Holidays in Order

Gray pumpkins

Now that Halloween has been left in the past for another year, and the country is back on standard time, we should be careful to keep our holidays in order. With all the marketing strategies geared toward parting you and your money by offering amazing early Christmas shopping deals, it is nearly impossible to not skip right over Thanksgiving.

Well, I’m here to help with a few pictures of squash and pumpkins. And yes, a little of my own marketing will follow at the end.

Let all things be done decently and in order

As we have always done, Marcie and I will not be putting up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. We will likely start the Saturday after, but it is in keeping with the Biblical perspective on how things should be done. Saying this in a blog post is fraught with danger. It will be interesting to see how many people take my statement seriously.

Thanksgiving, then Christmas.

Before rushing headlong into the season of giving and getting let’s take a breath and open our hearts and minds and think about the many things we have to be thankful for.

Gratitude is the starting point of the holidays. Thankfulness is the way to kick off this joyous season of giving and receiving.

Thanksgiving first, Christmas second.

Before the distractions of the shopping and rushing around to find the perfect gift takes over, stop and simply reflect on and enjoy the blessings that God has given this year.

Cards for the Holidays

Thanks for reading this far. Like I said at the beginning, there would be a little marketing of my own. Can’t help it. ‘Tis the season.

As you consider your holiday cards this year, take a look at my images. The great people at SmugMug, for whom I am grateful, have added greeting cards to the items I am able to offer you.
